about me
Hi, I'm Gabbi, a Brisbane-based writer and editor. I have a BFA in creative writing from QUT.

Ever since I was young, I have been fascinated with fantasy and sci-fi novels. I aim to tell stories that intertwine speculative tropes with Australian settings familiar to me.
Growing up in Brisbane, I never read novels based around places I knew - especially any
genre-heavy novels. Perhaps that's why the superhero novel I am writing is based in Brisbane...

I worked at the National College of Australia as a copyeditor and resource developer. In my position, I developed learning material for online users.

I worked as an editor at ScratchThat Magazine, an online arts and culture magazine. Overseeing a team of more than twenty creatives, we published two full issues. I aided in streamlining the process from ideation to final product within strict deadlines.

I worked as a copyeditor for issue three of ScratchThat. Not only was I the sole copyeditor for ScratchThat's biweekly newsletter, but I also edited short stories and poetry suites. I edited and polished copy to maintain content consistency across multiple channels.

I was the winner of the Allen and Unwin Writer's Prize. You can access the story here. You can find my writing on ScratchThat's website.
